Friday Focus:. Students in Tom Pitman's class at YHS are finishing up their electric cars. They'll be competing in Connecticut in May.

Schools will be closed in Yarmouth Thursday, January 16. This is our second school closure of the year, moving our final student day to Friday, June 12.

FRIDAY FOCUS: Fourth grade students in Ms. Winton's class at Y.E.S. present their work to determine the number of floor tiles needed to cover all the classroom floors in the school. Lots of counting, calculating, and estimating!

Yarmouth welcomes visitors from Aomori City, Japan, including ten students and three educators, who will spend the week with us as part of the Casco Bay-Japan Exchange Program. Today began with a fantastic presentation by the visiting students!

Yarmouth Schools will be closed Tuesday, Dec. 3 due to the forecast for heavy mid-day snow. With this closing, the final student day of school is moved to Thursday, June 11.

Drivers are reminded that the drive between West Elm Street and Portland Street, through the Yarmouth High School parking lot, is closed to thru traffic during construction. Please plan accordingly!

Construction begins at Yarmouth High School! Ledgewood Construction has their subcontractors on site, and things will look much different when students and staff return on Monday.

Students at Rowe School are enjoying watching the start of construction work at the school. Loss of parking spaces and some noisy activities may not have the adults feeling as excited . . . but the final product will be worth it!

Construction activities are beginning at Rowe School! Security fencing is being installed, and site work is about to start.

YHS Principal, Eric Klein, and School Counselors, Brenda Michaelsen and Beth Doane, are in Washington, D.C. today, receiving Yarmouth High School's Blue Ribbon Award!

Please be aware that Yankee Drive in Yarmouth is closed due to a downed wire. Parents should communicate with students as to how they should get home from the bus stop. Cousins Street is down to one lane due to a downed tree. Buses should be able to access the island safely.

Cousins Island is now open. Buses will run on a two-hour delay schedule throughout all of Yarmouth.

Cousins Island is closed off due to a fallen tree. We will keep an eye on that work and let you know if/when we can run buses to the island. Until then, Cousins Island residents can stay put. We have one other bus route on East Main that will re-route to avoid a downed wire. Other than that our buses should be set to make pickups on a two-hour delayed schedule throughout Yarmouth.

There will be a two hour delay to the start of school in Yarmouth today, October 17. Buses will run two hours later than normal. School will end at the regular time.

Yarmouth High School has been named a 2019 National Blue Ribbon School of Excellence. YHS is one of only two high schools in Maine being recognized this year, and Yarmouth is the only district in the State with a school in 2018 (Y.E.S.) and 2019. Well done!

Yarmouth's Red Line bus pickup may be a running a few minutes late for YES and Rowe students this morning (Thursday, 9/26). Thank you for your patience.

All four Yarmouth schools have received the Let’s Go! Smarter Lunchroom recognition for 2019. This program honors school lunchrooms that are implementing best practices that reduce waste and increase participation, nudging students to make healthier choices.

Please remind your friends and neighbors it is illegal, and dangerous, to pass a stopped school bus with its flashing lights on.
