Walkway with sculptures of birds
Planning is under way for a new public art installation in Yarmouth, and the Yarmouth Arts Alliance (YAA) is inviting public input on work to be commissioned by noted Maine artist, John Bowdren of Pownal.  The proposed installation features seven bronze cast bird sculptures to be located along the pathway connecting Main Street and Route One overlooking the skating pond behind KeyBank.  Will they be Swifts or Swallows?  The Public Art Committee is asking residents to vote on their choice of bird - Swift or Swallow- and sculpture finish.  Final finish options include gold leaf, platinum leaf, or patina.   We are asking residents to vote by filling out the survey by clicking on the link posted below or view the survey online by  visiting the Yarmouth Arts Alliance Facebook page (facebook.com/yarmoutharts), or at displays at Bath Savings bank lobby, 424 U.S. Route One or Merrill Memorial Library, first floor.   This project will need final approval by the Town Council.
