We have just been informed that a fourth individual who is part of the Yarmouth Elementary School community (meaning, a student or staff member) has tested positive for COVID-19 within the past week. This case will result in the quarantining of 14 students and staff members, and could lead to quarantining of an additional 6 staff members pending the outcome of tomorrow morning’s rapid testing. Because we are able to provide rapid tests to permit staff to work each day, negative test results for these staff members will allow us to hold the school day as scheduled. If any number of these individuals test positive, we may have to alter the daily schedule significantly. We will keep you apprised of any needed changes.
Students who will be required to quarantine are being notified by telephone this afternoon. We should have those calls completed by 5:00 p.m. If you do not receive a call, your child is not among those needing to quarantine.
