Three boys with medals

Three eighth-grade students at Frank Harrison Middle School earned first place in the National History Day state-level competition held at the University of Maine on May 2.

Sam Kelley, Henry Patrick, and Mateo Velazquez competed in the "Group Documentary" category.  Their documentary titled "Fukushima: Accountability and a New Age for Nuclear Power" is an impressive example of student work, fitting the targeted theme of "Revolution, Reaction, Reform" perfectly.

The group will be heading to the University of Maryland to present at the National Competition on June 15.

Good luck, Sam, Henry, and Mateo!
