On Tuesday, June 9, at Yarmouth High School, 4,038 voters cast their ballots on the FY27 School Department budget, with more than 2300 (58%) voting in the affirmative. We are grateful for the opportunity to move forward with the 2026-2027 school year with the certainty that comes with an approved budget.
The approved school budget reflects a 4.4% increase over the current year, preserving programming at all levels of the district. No new or expanded programming is being proposed, as the recommended budget is $350,000 below the "roll-forward" budget that would result from simply moving all programs, services, and employees from the current year into next year, given projected increases to salaries, benefits, and utilities/equipment costs.
