Students with awards

After taking the top two spots in Maine in the 2023 Titan Challenge, two teams from YHS pulled off an even more astounding feat, capturing the top two spots in the nation, and defeating teams from more than 30 other states earlier this month.

Improving on their second-place finish in Maine, the "Yarmouth One" team of John Raymond, Truman Peters, and Cornelius Welsh catapulted to the top spot in the country, with their closest competition coming from within the halls of YHS in the team of "Yarmouth Five",  comprised of Bobby Wolff, Will Raymond, and Zach Lattanzi.

Junior Achievement (JA) of Maine sponsors the Titan Challenge at various locations throughout Maine each year, with over 100 teams from dozens of Maine high schools competing in a virtual business development simulation.  Top performers at the state level move on to the national competition. During the JA Titan National Virtual Competition, students work in teams to make financial decisions about production, marketing, research and development (R&D), and corporate social responsibility (CSR) for their company. Student teams from across the United States compete for the chance to win prizes and be named the JA Titan of Business.

Congratulations to all of our Titan Challenge competitors and their teacher, David Pearl, for another outstanding YHS performance!
