October

 Happy Friday, Rowe Families!

It is hard to believe we are already welcoming October! We are so proud of how well learners across our school have settled into the routines of our school and classrooms. Great things to ask your children about are how they are demonstrating our Core Values at school! This month, we also started our monthly community meetings with kindergarten and first grade. At Community Meeting this month, we focused on two texts to help model and inspire thinking about our Core Values: Safe, Kind, Helpful and Polite. With kindergarteners, we used the text: “KINDergarten: Where Kindness Matters Every Day” by Vera Ahiyya - a wonderful text highlighting many examples of how to be kind at school. With first-graders, we used the text: “How to Get Your Teacher Ready” by Jean Reagan. This text demonstrates ways that children demonstrated the core values toward their teacher - but were also great examples of how we can demonstrate them toward each other and everyone at school.

The Rowe Team is also so grateful for all who were able to join us for our Open House last week. In our efforts to ensure our Open House is as informative and helpful for families as possible, we would really appreciate it if you could take a couple of minutes to provide some feedback using THIS SURVEY

We have a very busy October ahead of us!

Learning At Rowe

This month, children will continue to settle into their academic and workshop routines. We have completed our first round of academic screeners, which provides a great snapshot for our team guiding where we begin their learning journey. Various screeners and assessments are administered throughout the year to ensure our learners are making appropriate progress and they provide essential feedback to our team about where to support each child next!

Fall conferences will be held in the weeks leading up to Thanksgiving break. This will be a great opportunity to hear more about your child’s progress and goals. Please never hesitate to reach out to your child’s teacher directly if you ever have any questions or concerns!
