The construction project at Yarmouth Elementary School is progressing and we are excited to be moving our 2nd, 3rd, and 4th graders into new or renovated spaces this fall. As with many industries, the moving company with whom we are contracting is having difficulty hiring qualified employees, and in order to stay on schedule with construction and the start of the school year we need some assistance from members of the community. Parents and community members who are able to carry furniture, boxes of books and school supplies are invited to join us for Yarmouth Elementary School Move-In Days on Monday, August 16 and Tuesday, August 17 as we will be unloading trucks loaded with these items and delivering them to classrooms throughout the school. To do this work efficiently, we need approximately 20 volunteers during each of the following sessions:
Monday August 16 from 8:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
Monday, August 16 from 12:00 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.
Tuesday, August 17 from 8:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
Tuesday, August 17 from 12:00 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.
We will provide snacks, drinks, and pizza throughout the day, and Yarmouth School employees will be on site, helping with the move and directing traffic, as necessary.
We ask that volunteers be 18 years of age or older. If you are able to assist, please complete the sign-up form linked here, and we will be in touch to confirm your slot on the team.
A bonus for parents will be the opportunity to get a sneak peek at the earliest completed phases of the new Yarmouth Elementary School!
Thank you for considering supporting our schools in this helpful way.
