Rotary Recognition-Congrats to Jonathan Tangila Mesu and Sierra Hunt

Congratulations and best wishes to Jonathan Tangila Mesu and Sierra Hunt, the 5th grade students who will be honored by the HMS/Rotary Student Recognition program for the month of January!
                                                  Mr. C. and Jonathan

The Unified Arts Team chose Jonathan for this recognition and the 5th Grade Team chose Sierra. This award is based on growth mindset and the effort/grit/perseverance demonstrated by HMS students.

Jonathan is a hard working student who always tries his best.  He seeks help when needed and is a self directed learning.  For example, in band, Jonathan grabs a pencil, marks his parts, and then gets to work on playing correctly.  Simply said, he does not give up.

Mr. Smith, Sierra, and Mrs. Rollins

Sierra is an all-around excellent student and role model to her peers. Her positive attitude and can do spirit are infectious. Sierra seeks knowledge in all areas of her school day, pushing herself to the next level in her academics, and never settling for less than her best. Sierra is a constant support to her classmates. She does not seek attention for her wonderful accomplishments but instead celebrates the accomplishments of her peers. We feel very fortunate to share our days with Sierra; she is determined to give her best at all times.

Our heartfelt thanks to Sarah MacGillivray, past president of the Yarmouth
Rotary, Bruce Myers, current president, and all members of the Rotary, for
partnering with us to make this program possible!
