Front Office Secretary - Yarmouth High School

Description: The Front
Office Secretary works at the front office desk along with one other
secretary. This particular position
works closely with the assistant principal. This is a year round, full time
secretarial position, approximately 40 hours a week (7:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. each
period attendance throughout the school day. Monitors student absences and
tardies. Contacts teachers who have not completed attendance.
parents regarding attendance information (absences, tardies, and dismissals).
the telephone, greets visitors, refers people to the appropriate school
personnel, gives messages to the appropriate persons, and answers
communication with students, parents, and staff regarding discipline incidents.
the office detention attendance records. Emails students and their parents
who are assigned office and Saturday detention.
the PATHS student attendance and records any absences from PATHS.
and updates student records and files.
the Calendar Setup in PowerSchool according to the school calendar.
closely with the assistant principal in the monitoring of senior privileges.
closely with the principal’s secretary in coordinating office functions.
closely with the assistant principal in scheduling appointments, coordinating
duties, sending out letters, and other work assigned by the assistant
duties as assigned by the Principal.
“people skills” in interacting with students, parents, staff and community
solver who can find the right person to help resolve issues.
good, positive relationships with students, parents, and staff.
with PowerSchool or equivalent.
computer skills, including the use of word processing, spreadsheets, Google
Docs, and website updating.
