Yarmouth Elementary School seeks a highly skilled and experienced school administrator to lead its high-performing, 350-student elementary school serving grades 2-4. The successful candidate will be a collaborative, innovative educational leader with excellent communication skills, the ability to build consensus, an engaging personality, and a love of learning.
The mission of the Yarmouth School Department is to empower all students to create fulfilling lives in a changing world. Consistently one of Maine’s highest performing schools, Yarmouth Elementary School produces standardized test scores among the top 1% in the state and seeks to provide students with innovative and engaging learning opportunities in a variety of settings. Yarmouth Elementary School provides one-to-one technology for students at each grade level.

1. Master’s degree or higher;
2. Current and valid certification as a Maine School Principal;
3. Five (5) years of successful school administrative experience (elementary school principal experience preferred);
4. Experience as an elementary teacher;
5. Experience facilitating communication between groups and group decision making;
6. Effective administrative and management skills;
7. Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the effective utilization of technology and information management tools.
